Bio
Claudia Nentwich, 1962 in Augsburg geboren, wuchs bei ihren
böhmischen Großeltern im Landkreis Augsburg und später bei ihren
Eltern in Oberfranken auf. Ihr Großvater, der acht Instrumente
spielen konnte, brachte ihr schon früh Lieder und Gedichte bei.

1986 zieht sie nach Berlin, schreibt Songs für ein Plattenalbum
und nimmt Gesangsunterricht.
Parallel arbeitet sie mit dem DDR-Dissidenten
Heinrich Saar
an seiner Biographie. Das Manuskript umfasst mehr als 800
Seiten. Es ist heute im Privatarchiv der Uni Leipzig.
1994-97 gründet sie die Band
Crazy Mama
und nimmt bis 1997 mehrere CDs mit ihren eigenen Songs auf.
Parallel singt sie als Choristin im Musical
Space Dream,
eine Schweizer Produktion, die im eigens für diesen Zweck
gebauten Space Dream-Theater im Berliner Flughafen Tempelhof
stattfindet.
2019 Launch der From
Ireland to Berlin-Konzertreihe in der Zitadelle Spandau
gemeinsam mit Jen Hajj und Martin Praetorius, die seither
regelmäßig zu Jahresende in verschiedenen Spielorten in Berlin
und Umgebung stattfindet.
2020 CD-Release
Lost Country, bestehend aus einer Auswahl von Songs, die in
Kollaboration mit anderen Songwritern entstanden sind,

Ländern über Videocalls geschrieben hat.
Bio English
Born in Augsburg in 1962, Claudia Nentwich grew up with her
Bohemian grandparents in Bavaria. Her grandfather played eight
instruments. He taught her songs and poems from an early age.
In 1981 she gained her first stage experience as a singer in the
punk band Sagrotan who
had their first gig at
the legendary Subway in Augsburg.
From 1984-86 she lived in Barcelona. Inspired from the
songwriters she met in Spain she wrote her first song
Lara.
In 1986 she moved to Berlin and continued to write songs and
started to take singing lessons. At the same time, she worked
with GDR dissident Heinrich Saar on his biography. The
manuscript is over 800 pages long and is now in the private
archives of the University of Leipzig.
In 1994 she founded the band
Crazy Mama and
recorded several CDs with her own songs until the band split in
1997. At the same time, she sang in the choir of the musical
Space Dream, a Swiss
production that takes place in the specially built Space Dream
Theatre at Berlin's Tempelhof Airport.
In 1999 she founded the internet platform
www.songwritingforum.de and worked as an online journalist for rock
classics at the internet portal
Meome.
From 1999-2010 she worked as a vocal and songwriting coach.
In 2007 her first book
Liederfänger - Wege zum Songwriter
(Song catcher – How to
become a songwriter) was published. It contains interviews
about songwriting and how to become a songwriter.
2007 release of the CD
Gegenlicht
From 2007-17 she hosted the concert series
Songs on the Boat in the dining room of the historic tug
Jeseniky in
Berlin-Mitte.
2010 For the tribute album

2012 Release of the CD
Windstill
2012 she was invited to lead a one-week workshop
Garagenbands: Songwriting & Bandplaying at the University of
Liechtenstein.
In 2015 she published her second book
Schlaf gut, Böhmen! (Sleep
Well, Bohemia!). The book is based on interviews with her
Bohemian grandparents about their lives before and during WWII.

at Terzo Mondo in Charlottenburg.
